Himalayan Trek and Tiger conservation challenge

Jess and Paul will be visiting India on the 7th October 2017 til 19th October 2017 on behalf of the Centre. This is an event fully paid for out of their own money. Any funds raise purely go towards the Adoption Centre and the cats within them. This will be an exciting adventure. We are hoping to raise a minimum of £7,500.
The rough breakdown of our adventure:
Day 1-2 (Saturday 7th - Sunday 8th October): London to Delhi
Meet up with our other group members and DTC tour Manager at london heathrow ready for our overnight flight.
On arrival next day we are transfered to a central hotel where we are able to freshen up. We get to explore Delhi for a short while until we head to the railway station for a trip to Pathankot.
Our first night is on an overnight train.
Day 3 (Monday 9th October): Pathankot - Dharamshala (2082m in height)
Arive in Pathankot and tranfer to Dharamshala and we get breakfast on route.
At the Himalayan hill resort we check into a hotel and have a leisure day of exploring the local area. We can visit the Dalai Lama Palace and Tibetan government-in-exile buildings or generally enjoy the atmosphere. We get to have a Tibetan dinner in the evening.
Day 4 (Tuesday 10th October):Dharamshala - Kanol Village
After breakfast we have a short transfer which is our starting point where the trekking begins. The first few km are undulating until we reach a small village which is where the descent starts through pine forests to Ghere village. We stop at a mountain stream for lunch and then continue on with a steep ascent for about 2 hours when we will then set up camp. ( Trekkin time approx - 4.6 hours / 12km
Day 5 (Wednesday 11th October): Kanol village - Bahl
After our first night under the stars we continue ascending gradually, passing through many villages, beautiful open meadows and pine forests. We will embark on a small descent to a mountain stream for lunch. After lunch it's a sharp ascent to Bahl, our second campsite.
Trekking time approx - 6 hours / 15 km
Day 6 (Thursday 12th october): Bahl - Triund
Our trek carries on through rhododendron and pine forestrs for about 2 hours until we reach a local "chai" tea shop where we can take a rest. All around us we will encounter Gaddi Tribal people taking livestock up to high pastures of Lak and Triund.
After refreshment we will continue our ascent until we reach out camp on an alpine meadow facing breath taking snow capped peaks of the Dualadhat mountain range.
Trekking time approx - 7 hours / 10km
Day 7 (Friday 13th October): Triund - Pathankot
After our final camp breakfast we begin trekking over a grassy ridge trekking down to Mcleodgunji where we join the vehicle to return to Pathankot and take the overnight train back to Delhi.
Trekking time approx - 4-5 hours / 12 km
Day 8 (Saturday 14th october): Delhi - Jabalpur - Kanha
Once in Delhi we transfer to the airport where a plane will take us to Jabalpur. We will then drive 3 hours to reach Kanha National Park and the Chitvan Jungle Loadge, our base for the next four nights.
Day 9 (sunday 15th - Tuesday 17th October): Kanha
Over the next few days we will join in and learn about the various activities which help conserve the environment, especially for Tigers. Activities include; Safari drives, tiger spotting and other endemic animals, visit wildlife interpretation centre, Ranger talk, removing invasive weeds, visit a tribal village and market, tree planting, visit a local school and help educate about tiger conservation.
