Welcome to Cats Protection Dereham Adoption Centre

We’re here to support cats and kittens in Mid Norfolk and the surrounding area. 

Run by a passionate team of cat lovers, we’re dedicated to improving the lives of cats and kittens in Dereham, working to find loving new homes for local cats in our care, offering support with neutering, and lost and found cats, as well as general education and awareness within the Dereham area. Our reception, reception cat shop, and our Bric-a-Brac shed are open 11am-3pm daily. 

We're here to help with any cat questions and concerns you may have. Whether you are having difficulties with your owned cat, thinking of adding a cat to your home for the first time or anything in between, we are here to support and assist. We also support owners within the community, hit with financial difficulties, to feed their cats by providing temporary relief via Watton Food Hub 

Our cats have all their health and veterinary needs taken care of by The Mayers Veterinary Clinic 

Cat adoption in Dereham

Could you provide a loving new home for a cat in Mid Norfolk? During the process of adopting a cat from us, we’ll consider everything from your potential pet’s personality and how this fits with your lifestyle, to your home environment – creating the perfect match for both cat and owner and the start of a wonderful feline friendship.

Cats available for adoption from Cats Protection Dereham Adoption Centre are featured below. To express your interest in a particular cat, please enquire via their listing. If you have any general enquiries about your suitability, would like to book a face to face cat matching appointment or have any questions about the adoption process, please call us on: 01362 687919 or email us. 

To complete an adoption we will require proof of address such as a driving licence or utility bill. If you rent your property please ensure you have gained permission from your Landlord and have written permission for your total number of pet cats before making an application. 

Our adoption fee is £95 for a kitten and £75 for an adult cat. All our cats are neutered, vaccinated, worm and flea treated, microchipped and come with 4 weeks free Petplan Insurance.

We also regularly have cats better suited to an outdoor life and working homes as pest controllers. If you're in need of some feline help on your farm, in your yard or around your stables please get in touch.

Without volunteers, Cats Protection Dereham Adoption Centre simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We're often looking to welcome new volunteers to join our brilliant team. As well as meeting great people and making an incredible difference to the cats of Dereham, you'll enjoy practical benefits such as discounted pet insurance.

Across Cats Protection our feline friends looking for new homes are cared for either at our adoption centres, by volunteer fosterers in their own homes or in purpose built pens in their gardens. Our cat care volunteers are part of a passionate team that look after and meet the needs of cats whilst they are in our care.
